Luann Alleman and Paul Blood are the 2017 Co-Recipients of the Burt Silverman Award

The Burt Silverman Award is presented to someone who has substantially contributed to the golf community.

Luann has just completed her 30th year a Course Rater for the Toledo District Golf Association. This has been invaluable service to the TDGA - every summer she has given her time and talents numerous times whenever the call came anad she was available.
In addition to her service with the TDGA, Luann has served as an officer of the Toledo Women's District Golf Association (secretary in 1997-98, Vice-President 1998-99, and President 1999-00). She also served on the Advisory Board for the Babe Zahrias Cancer Tournament from 1991-93. Her other outstanding non golfing accomplishments include: organizing Light the Night to help eliminate crime in the Gllendale School area, co-chaired the Toledo Adopt-a-School Program, was on the Executive Committee for Partners in Education from 1988-2010, and on the Board of Directors for Partners in Education from 1988-2017.

Paul has been a Course Rater for the Toledo District Golf Association for over 20 years. He is always readily available for and course rating responsibilities no matter how far or near and has served as a great instructor to many of our newer raters offering his knowledge and experience. >br/> In addition to his service to the TDGA, Paul was a founding Board Member and Tournament Chairman for the Stone Oak Country Club's Foodfellows men's golf league from 1998-2002; during the same period of time he was a Stone Oak Country Club committee member. From 2003-06 he was a Rules Committee member at Heritage Oaks Golf Club Men's Golf Association in Sarasota, FL. He also served on the Heritage Oak GC Golf Committee from 2007-10. Presently Paul valunteers as a golf course ranger at Stone Oak CC for outside events. He has been doing this since 2015.
