Cliff Siehl is the 2018 Recipient of the Burt Silverman Award

The Burt Silverman Award is presented to someone who has substantially contributed to the golf community.

Cliff's contributions to golf include:

TDGA Advisory Board Member from the early 1990’s – 2000

TDGA President 2004 (his term on the Board of Trustees ran from 2000 to 2006)

TDGA Executive Director 2007 – 2017

USGA Rules Official

Numerous Rules Assignments for USGA tournaments, state tournaments, city tournaments, college invitationals, etc. – has officiated at close to 100 events

Strongly involved with the NCAA Division I Girl’s Regional Qualifiers and National Championship – he has been the Official in Charge of 7 NCAA Division I Women’s Regional Qualifiers and been an official at 7 NCAA Division I Women’s Championships

Has attended 12 USGA/PGA Rules Seminars and his scores have been exemplary (including a recent 100%)

Port Clinton High School Golf Club Founder & Coach – Cliff and his wife Peterann began a girls’ golf club at Port Clinton High School in the 1990’s which provided the 1st golf opportunities for girls attending Port Clinton City Schools. Cliff coached the team for several years before it attained status as a varsity sport. Their daughter Whitney is a school record holder in the program.

Cliff and Peterann (retired Professor at BGSU) reside on Catawba Island. They have one daughter, Whitney, who played golf for a season at Northwestern and is now an attorney in Chicago, IL.

Cliff has been a member of the Catawba Island Club since 1975. The game of golf has always been a central part of his life.
